Balham & Tooting Mosque are looking to establish a social welfare panel that will aid the community in accessing support and information.
The Islamic calendar (Hijri) is a lunar calendar based on 12 lunar months in a year of 354 or 355 days. The first year was during which the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) emigrated from Makkah to Medina. The current Islamic year is 1431 AH.

The mosque is currently looking to establish a youth panel with the intention of creating a platform whereby young members of the community are able to express their opinion and seek advice & guidance in accordance to Islamic teachings.
In all communities around the world the birth of a child is considered a blessing and ceremonies are held to celebrate this event. A new born baby in Islam has the following rites, as demonstrated and taught by the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh): Saying the Adhan Tahneek Aqeeqah Tasmiyah Khitan

Muslims believe that death is the end of the life of this world, yet the beginning of the next. In essence the true life is yet to come as it is eternal. It is at this very moment
The mosque aims to work with different health organisation to set up information events and workshops for the community. We hope that this will provide a better understanding of different health issues and promote healthier living amongst our community.
We welcome individuals, families and visitors from faith, inter-faith and educational establishments where a guided tour by the Imam can be arranged.
